Mercedes-Benz Oman, driven by Our Passion, Sets Blueprint for Successful Year Ahead

Muscat – More than 300 Zawawi Trading Company employees came together at a special ceremony for the launch of ‘Our Passion’, an internal platform designed to drive the company’s growth forward. Under the initiative a new vision, mission and values were collectively developed representing the blueprint for future successes. Following its record- breaking performance in 2015, Zawawi Trading Company has its eyes set on becoming the best Mercedes-Benz General Distributor in the Middle East and North Africa by focusing not only on achieving best customer and employee experience, but also by attaining sustainable returns and positively contributing to the community. A step towards reaching its objectives, the iconic brand in the Sultanate launched a dedicated Training Foundation Programme which will equip its team with the professional know-how to lead rewarding careers at Zawawi Trading Company.

Speaking at the event, Clive Hammond, CEO of Zawawi Trading Company -Automotive, urged his fellow colleagues to let their passion be the reason for their existence and their success be the product of their persistence. He added, “Mercedes-Benz Oman’s overall performance in 2015 has been nothing short of remarkable. The outstanding results, achievements, in addition to the awards and accolades we received showcased, time and again, the strength of our team, their hard work, and dedication; however, just like our brand, we are ambitious and have greater plans for tomorrow.”

greater heights in 2016. As a company we will also endeavour to nurture a team-oriented, positive and engaging work environment that will guarantee job satisfaction for all.” Added Hammond.

The newly launched Mercedes-Benz Oman Training Foundation Programme, developed in conjunction with local Omani training company New Metrics, will focus on developing the basic skill-sets of employees. Consisting of three initial courses, all company staff members will receive training in Communication Skills, Customer Service as well as Values, Ethics & Diversity. The courses will aim to enhance their knowledge and competencies which will in-turn increase customer satisfaction. Managers and Supervisors will also receive leadership training.

With the restructuring of the company’s business units under a new management team, the year 2015, was a year of change and growth for Mercedes-Benz Oman. Strong sales results made it a success when the S-Class, A-Class, and C-Class continued to rule the country’s roads. That, in addition to the launch of the GLC, GLE, and GLE Coupe, ensured market domination for the brand in the Sultanate. This remarkable streak was culminated when the company received critical acclaim, and was awarded ‘Best Digital Marketing Campaign, ‘Best SUV Growth Performance’, and ‘Best Performance against Target Agreement’ by Daimler Middle East and Levant.

WALI OF SEEB VISITS OMAN TEXTILE MILLS

A delegation from Wilayat of Seeb and Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) had visited Oman Textiles Mills on 04-Feb-2016.

 

H.E. Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Yahya Al Rawahi, Wali of Seeb was accompanied by senior officials from the Seeb Governate, Asstt CEO of Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), Eng. Musallam Mohammed Al Shahri and Director General of Rusayl Industrial Estate, Eng. Mohsin Zahran Al Hinai.

 

Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Balushi, HR & Admin Manager welcomed the guests and said it was a great moment for Oman Textile Mills (OTM) to have them at the factory. He explained the delegation about the various operations in the factory and the history of the organization in detail. The various processes of production covering Weaving, Processing, Embroidery, Printing and Finishing were shown as they walked through the facility.

 

Mr. Vivek Johri, CEO of Oman Textile Mills, said that it was an honour and that the team was very happy to receive H.E. Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Yahya Al Rawahi and the entire delegation. He spoke about the Omzest Group and quoted His Excellency, Dr. Omar Zawawi: “Blessed by the illustrious reign of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, there is no other place like Oman where you are greeted with exciting opportunities just about every day”. The Omzest Group endeavours to bring alive the grand vision of His Majesty and strive to be responsible corporate citizens by leveraging the opportunities to bring about greater development, empowerment and progress to Oman.

 

It was in 1988 when Oman Textile Mills (OTM) had commenced operation and is the only integrated textile mills in GCC. The company has to operate in a fiercely competitive international market with players from China, India and Far-east. OTM is a major player in the country and about 50% of its production is exported. OTM operates with 40% Omanization in it’s work-force. The company is confident that with the support within the country, it will grow faster and generate many more jobs in our industry.

 

H.E. Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Yahya Al Rawahi thanked the team and said that it must gear up to face the challenges of the current economic situation. He was pleased to see the improvements since his last visit and acknowledged that Oman Textile Mills was doing a very commendable job by producing in the country, adding value and providing employment to the people.
