From humble beginnings in 1972, dealing in gas cookers, typewriters, air-conditioners, Zawawi Trading Company LLC. is now one of the leading multi-faceted companies in Oman holding exclusive trading licenses for some of the world’s most renowned companies. This sums up the commendable growth route of Zawawi Trading Company LLC (ZTC) over the past 40 years. With the acquisition of Daimler AG (erstwhile Mercedes-Benz) agency towards the end of1972, ZTC has since formed one of the strongest and most trustworthy business relationships in Oman. Today, four decades later, ZTC is a multi-divisional company, running five full-fledged operating divisions:

AUTOMOTIVE DIVISION

Over the years the company has grown from strength to strength and today, as the exclusive distributor for the entire range of Mercedes-Benz cars and commercial vehicles in Oman, it is one of the largest automotive dealers and market leaders in the executive and luxury car segment in the Sultanate of Oman.

ZTC currently operates Mercedes-Benz showrooms in Muscat and Salalah as well as a commercial vehicles aftersales facility in Haima to provide prompt and expert services to Mercedes-Benz owners in Haima and its vicinity. ZTC will also add a new facility in the port hub of Sohar toward the end of 2013 which will further expand its world class service levels for commercial vehicle products across Oman.

 

NEW CARS SALES – THE SHOWROOM

The Mercedes-Benz showroom is a true landmark in the automotive trade in the Sultanate, combining high quality standards set by Mercedes-Benz with the traditional Omani building design philosophy.The Muscat showroom recently underwent a complete redesign which was unveiled in 2012. The facelift includes a new extended passenger car showroom and customer area, dedicated pre-owned ProvenExclusivity area and an air conditioned passenger car Active Service Bay with revamped integrated reception area. The Active Service Bay allows ZTC customers to look on in total comfort as their vehicles undergo world class servicing by Mercedes-Benz certified technicians.

The showroom also has a dedicated AMG space and a customer lounge with Mercedes-Benz lifestyle accessories on display. Above all, the redesigned Zawawi Muscat showroom provides customers with friendly, unobstructed surroundings to allow for ease of movement and also maximum flexibility in arranging the cars on consumer display. We look forward to welcoming you!

AFTER SALES (SERVICE)

ZTC’s Mercedes-Benz Service Centre provides customers with premium service for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Most of the technicians, supervisors and customer-attending staff have received training from Mercedes-Benz – either in-house, at the Regional Centre in U.A.E., or at the factory in Germany.

The workshop has state-of-the-art facilities to match the product requirements. This includes site assistance for customers, courtesy car scheme, mobile workshop for on-the-spot attention, servicing at the customer’s location for major fleet owners, drop-off service to customers leaving their vehicles at the workshop, as well as free technical inspection and repair estimates if the jobs are carried out at the workshop.

The whole experience of car servicing at Zawawi has been raised to set a whole new standard at the recently upgraded Muscat showroom and the Active Bay Service Area offers customers a unique aftersales facility. Mercedes-Benz owners can enjoy their favourite coffee from the premium coffee bar located in the reception and keep an eye out for their car while it’s being serviced by Zawawi’s qualified technicians. Car servicing is now a pleasure and no longer a chore!

On the commercial vehicle side of the after sales business, October 2013 saw ZTC proudly announce the opening of its state of the art new service facility, bringing prompt, expert maintenance to Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle owners in Haima and its locale. In addition, a mobile workshop will bring peace of mind to customers within a 150 km radius of Haima including Muhuth and Duqum.

With the arrival of the newly introduced Freightliner and WesternStar commercial vehicle products in Oman, the new Zawawi Trading Company Haima Facility is well placed and fully prepared to continue to offer the highest levels of service to customers, including servicing of multi brand products with a big advantage for private and fleet customers who will be using the transit route through Haima.

SPARE PARTS DIVISION

Supplies a complete range of genuine parts for Mercedes-Benz, Maybach and SLR passenger cars, commercial vehicles, industrial engines and buses.

Apart from spare parts, the division also provides various Mercedes-Benz lifestyle accessories and specialised equipment, ensuring that customers are provided with the finest auto parts and accessories.

Only genuine branded parts are 100% safe and precisely engineered for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Mercedes-Benz invests heavily into the tooling and equipment needed to produce the replacement parts for all Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Fake parts will not last as long as their original counterparts and can cause serious damage to the vehicle, resulting in the much higher end cost. MARINE DIVISION

The Marine Division has been for more than three decades, involved in the sales and service of marine engineering equipment like Marine Vessels for military, commercial and leisure applications, High Speed Diesel engines, Marine Gearboxes, Ship Automation and Control System.

We are the authorised distributor for MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH, Germany for all their products and sevices i.e. state of the art and cutting edge technology High Speed Diesel Engines and complete drive system under MTU and Detroit Diesel brands for Marine Propulsion and Onboard Power Generation ( upto 9100 KW rating ).

The division co-operates with various shipyards like Rodman Polyships, Spain and has supplied a number of marine vessels to military and commercial customers in Oman.

Our sales activities are backed by our firm commitment to provide world class in country after sales support, which includes a well stocked spare parts warehouse and a well equipped workshop with highly trained and OEM qualified service engineers and technicians. In addition to the dedicated marine workshop under construction, we offer onsite support through a number of containerized semi-mobile and mobile workshops.

Our customer base includes public and private sector organisation, including Ministry of Defence, Royal Oman Police – Coastguard, Royal Yachts, Port Services Corporation, National Ferries Company and many other ministries and contractors.

UTILITIES DIVISION 

The Utilities Division is based on a novel combination of high-tech industrial products and service agencies. It is focused on the sale and marketing of products and services from worldwide principals viz. Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Corrosion protection and water systems.

Products include:

• Energy: MTU Diesel based Generating stations for both Prime and Standby operations. Generators ranging from 300KVA to 4000KVA are available in both LV & MV.
• Power: Transmission Line Hardware, Insulators, Sub-station Connectors, Surge Arrestors, Power / Distribution Transformers, MV / LV Switchgear, Tyco Electronics Raychem Cable Joint / Termination & Accessories (LV/MV/HV), FOC Accessories and Solar Energy Systems.
• Oil & Gas: Tyco Thermal Heat Tracing systems, Leak Detection system, Downhole Heating System, Thermoplastic Heat Shrinkable Material, Internal and External Epoxy and Cathodic Protection of Pipeline and Tanks.
• Water Systems: MS steel pipes, EPC Contracts and O&M for Water Desalination & Waste Water Treatment Plants.

JV with VA Tech Wabag: In a move to further strengthen and consolidate its leadership position in the Sultanate, Zawawi Trading Company (ZTC) has entered into a joint venture with VA Tech Wabag, a leading multinational corporation engaged in total water management. This agreement between ZTC and VA Tech Wabag taps into the ‘Operation and Maintenance’ business in the water space in Oman.

AGRICULTURE DIVISION

The Agricultural Division specializes in tractors and farm equipment. Massey Ferguson tractors were introduced in Oman four decades years ago and since then have been the market leaders with almost 80% share of the market.

The division also represents Daedong Tractors in small/compact range to meet the requirements of small farmers. In addition to this, the division has also commissioned small/ medium size turnkey projects such as Animal Feed Mill, Natural Fertilizer Plant, Milk Filling Line and Milking Parlour.
