The National Detergent Company SAOG is the largest detergent manufacturer in the Sultanate of Oman. Commercial production commenced in the year 1984 and in a short period of time, the Company achieved leadership status in the local detergent market, gaining 50% market share from MNCs.

Starting with detergent powders, NDC today manufactures and markets a wide range of powders, toilet soaps, dishwashing liquids, shampoos and other cleaning products.

It exports the range of products to all the GCC countries and markets in other Arab, African and Asian countries.

The guideline and operating principle of the Company all these years is to keep the customer requirements at the forefront and build customer loyalty.

NDC has built up brand equity for BAHAR over the years and always believes in giving the "best value for money" in all their products. Bahar has been relaunched as "New Bahar with FWA Power" in 2002. This new Bahar has been launched with significant quality upgradation and new packaging. In 2005 March, Bahar with FWA power has been launched with further improved quality.

The Company has a well-equipped and full fledged Research and Development Division which is constantly monitoring all existing and new products in the marketplace. It keeps track of technological developments in the industry and responds with appropriate improvements wherever necessary.

The Company was the proud recipient of the ISO 9001 Certification in 1996, first detergent and soap manufacturing plant in the entire GCC to achieve this accreditation. In 2000 the same has got re-certified as ISO 9001 - 2000.

Omanisation is a key focus area in the organisation, consistent with our social responsibilities. The present Omanisation level is around 42%.

NDC has won many laurels and recognition for its consistent performance over the years. The many awards received by NDC include His Majesty's Cup for Best Industrial Company in 1993,2001,2002 and 2003; His Majesty's Certificate for Best Industrial Company in 1994, 1995, 1997 and 1998 and 1999; DHSL-Gulf News Award for one of the Best Industries in the AGCC in 1991.
