Zawawi Mercedes-Benz’ inaugural attendance at the Oil and Gas West Asia 2012 Exhibition and Conference (OGWA) held recently was overwhelming. Four tough new commercial vehicles were launched on the occasion and attended initial customer enquiries for both its Western Star truck, dubbed the ‘behemoth of the US oil industry’, and Freightliner.
The exclusive distributor for Mercedes-Benz in the Sultanate is now conducting an intensive post show customer follow up to further ensures awareness of ZTC’s new and existing products and services. The follow-up programme will also furnish potentially interested companies with the opportunity to discuss specific requirements for tailored heavy vehicle solutions.
ZTC used the show to promote ZTC and the Daimler Brands’ excellent transport logistic solutions to a significant oil and gas industry community in Oman. The Unimog and Zetros range of all wheel drive trucks were also introduced at OGWA by ZTC. Borne out of the exacting standards of military requirements, the vehicles’ superb pedigree for the tough environments offered by Oman’s rugged terrain garnered strong interest from delegates. The Mercedes-Benz Vito and Sprinter vans, as well as the evergreen Actros truck were also showcased.
Commenting on ZTC’s inaugural attendance as an OGWA exhibitor, Craig Hardie, CEO–Automotive said: “Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles have a long and proud history in the Middle East as well as in Oman. Trucks such as the iconic Actros have helped build nations by providing reliable, dependable, heavy vehicle transport solutions for the development of infrastructure and industry in emerging markets.
The OGWA show was a natural choice for ZTC to showcase the proven track record of our current and future range of resilient commercial vehicles, allowing us to connect with new and existing customers in a purposeful environment.”
