WCAS gets accredition from the Research Council (TRC), OMAN

Waljat College Of Applied Sciences (WCAS) has been accredited by The Research Council (TRC), Oman to create and support the environment for research and innovation in the country. With this accreditation, the Faculty Members of the College can submit research projects to TRC for funding. The staff and students have been given unlimited access to the TRC?s online library, which contains large volumes of book and journals to cater to their educational, scientific and research needs. The college has set up dedicated servers to interconnect internal network with that of TRC to enable better interaction and submission of R&D projects.

WCAS students received the first prize in Engineering Project Category in a prestigious competition in Oman.

The college has expanded its facilities by building a new teaching block with spacious classrooms, a computer lab, a smart classroom, medical room and offices for administrative staff. The teaching block also contains a conference hall and a video conferencing hall where students can attend expert lectures and classes from Birla Institute of Technology Ranchi (India) – the parent university and other educational institutions worldwide.

Another block has also been added in the WCAS campus with a workshop and staff rooms and laboratories for Biotechnology and Mechanical Engineering. New canteen has been constructed and a student recreational centre is being developed. The college library has also been expanded to accommodate larger volumes of books and journals.

The College IT infrastructure has also been greatly enhanced with the addition of a state of art server room, new computers, computer labs, a language laboratory and increased internet connectivity bandwidth.
